Sustainability Environment Officer

A Sustainability and Green Environment Officer focuses on implementing and overseeing strategies to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainable practices within an organization or specific location, like a construction site. This role involves ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, developing and executing sustainability initiatives, and educating stakeholders about environmental best practices. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring adherence to environmental laws, regulations, and company policies. 

  • Contributing to the development and implementation of sustainability strategies and action plans. 

  • Tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sustainability, such as carbon footprint, waste reduction, and water conservation. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science/Studies, Sustainability, or a related field.

  • Post Qualified Experience of about 3 years of relevant experience in the fields of sustainable development, carbon management, or carbon management.

Climate Scientist

This role will analyze data, develop models, and use their findings to inform decisions about climate change mitigation and adaptation. Their work is crucial for understanding and addressing the impacts of climate change on various aspects of life, from agriculture to infrastructure. 

Responsibilities

  • Use complex mathematical models to simulate the Earth's climate system and predict future changes. 

  • Analyze vast amounts of data from various sources, including weather stations, satellites, and ice cores, to understand past and present climate conditions. 

  • Study the potential impacts of climate change on ecosystems, human societies, and infrastructure. 

  • Inform strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to the unavoidable consequences of climate change. 

Qualifications

  • Degree, Master’s or PhD in physical, computational or data science, or related field

  • Experience with UNIX/Linux-based supercomputer/server administration

  • Experience designing environmental modelling workflows

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
